Accredited by MHFA Wales, the Youth Mental Health First Aid course teaches adults who have frequent contact with young people, how to assist individuals who are developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis.

Find out more about the course here. Courses are currently running online and require staff to complete six online modules and two live instructor-led webinars.

LivingWorks safeTALK is a four-hour face-to-face workshop featuring powerful presentations, audiovisuals, and skills practice.

At a safeTALK workshop, you'll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, engaging someone, and connecting them to an intervention resource for further support.

A skilled, supportive trainer will guide you through the course, and a community resource will be on hand to support your safety and comfort.

We know that most students talk to their friends when they are having a tough time.

We can talk to friends in confidence and they help us to keep challenges in perspective. The truth is that although university can be awesome, life’s curveballs still get thrown at us and in these situations we really need our mates to be there for us. Friendship can play a key role in helping someone live with or recover from any difficulties they are facing. But it can be hard to know what to say when a friend is struggling.

This free Student Mind’s workshop will give students at Swansea University and University of Wales Trinity Saint David the necessary tips and tools to support a friend in need.
